Facebook Chat LIMIT?
Dear Facebook,
I am completely bamboozled right now. I was on your Facebook Chat a few minutes ago, talking to people and catching up on life among other things. Fine, I was talking to quite a few people for a quite a while. However, like a friggin’ facebolt from the blue, this is what you slapped on my screen:
“You have exceeded the limit for sending chat messages!
You are temporarily blocked from sending chat messages. Block times may vary depending on the feature and scale of abuse. Blocks cannot be lifted.
Misuse of Facebook’s features may result in your account being disabled.”
With all due respect, WHAT THE $%!@? Do you “think” I’m spamming people? Oh, are y’all guessing? What the hell do you think I’m trying to do? And you might “block” me for overusing your features? Don’t get me wrong, you are pretty cool and super handy, but this is slightly messed up. FB Chat has always had issues, but this one’s kinda extreme. Yes, it’s to prevent spamming and all, but you got to do better than that.
Look, you guys are doing an awesome job, but you have got to sort this FB Chat issue out. Facebook Chat is super convenient, but get it right, will you? Google and MSN are pretty smooth. So if they can do it, you should too, right? Ooh, did I touch a nerve there? Apologies. I am just voicing my concerns. Please don’t block me.

I could not agree MORE with this post. Its happened to me a million times, although in the case of inboxing and not Fb chat , but I find it completely absurd that they should block you for \"overusing\" their features.
On the contrary they should be happy people are using their features, not blocking them for it.
It put me off completely.
I had never even heard of this before it got me tonight! I was chatting with a few different friends, but nothing out of the ordinary. I have to agree, we shouldn’t be punished for using Facebook features when we’re hardly doing anything at all like spamming. Please fix this problem Facebook!

I agree, why are we being punished for using their features. Gmail doesn’t do it. gmail cht is much better, so why cna’t they improve? How is it abbuse to talk to your friends who want to talk with us?
They aren’t protecting anyone, their only making it harder for people to communicate! They have got to be slightly stupid or somehting to be mad at people for using their stuff. All of the people I talked to wanted to talk to me, and we havehad long conversations, but its not like I was holding a gun to their head,or something.
They need to change that, or anyone wiht sveral friends, who actually like them enought to talk to them, will, quit using facebook, and use google or something.
I think facebook needs to stop misguidedly trying to “protect” people, because all they are doing, is being irritating, and getting in thier own way.
I lost repect for Facebook.
the same exact thing happend to me last night… in a very akward moment in my conversation. making me to send private msg’s instead…as a back up.

I agree with all of the comments. I mean come on? don’t you want more people to use facebook? instead this would make people switch to something else. I was talking to a friend that I hardly get a chance to talk to and this thing pops up. I suggest to fix this…’cause it seems to me that many people are not happy with it.

Wow I have never even heard about this. Of course I barely use FB chat (mainly cause I find very non user friendly and slow with lots of messages getting dropped) so no chance of me experiencing this. But seriously I am sure it wouldn’t be too tough to figure what is spam and what isn’t.
