Poverty alleviation and human well-being. Strong believer in finding sustainable, innovative solutions that do not depend on aid or donations, and in the power of local social entrepreneurs to create scalable impact. Forgive the buzzwords.
Finance, data and operations strategist with 8 years of experience working in the social impact space and in Corporate America.
Some buzzwords that explain my skillset: corporate finance (budgeting, forecasting, pricing, expense and CAPEX management), operations optimization and capital structure management and machine learning / artificial intelligence (predictive modeling, data architecture, visual analytics).
I play MS Excel like a video game, can code in Python and marry that to Tableau. Can dabble with Adobe Photoshop (design, photo-editing), Adobe Audition (sound-mixing), Sony Vegas (video-editing) and Wordpress (web-design). Can also write a poem (that doesn’t always rhyme).
Yes, I know the bolding doesn’t make it any easier to read, but at least I tried!
Currently in Pune, India.
Previously was in London, UK, before which I spent 6 months in Nairobi, Kenya, worked for 15 months in Guatemala, 3 years in New York City, 2 years in San Antonio, Texas, 5 years in Austin, Texas, 9 years in Dubai, UAE and 9 years in Aurangabad, India.
Really fortunate? Yes. Where do I belong? Still trying to figure that out.
Phase 2: SOCIAL IMPACT
2017 - Present
- Founder, Ashaya (Sep 2020 – Present): Currently working on starting a social enterprise in the waste management space focused primarily on long-term solutions to multidimensional poverty. At Ashaya, we are trying to increase the value of waste, and fairly redistribute that value to stakeholders in the supply chain, especially those that are the most poor: waste-pickers.
- Finance, Scaling Up & Board of Directors at EcoSattva / CARPE / CRT (March 2020 – Present): Built out a scaling model and an investment pitch for their Solid Waste Management optimization process. Currently advising on finance and strategy as a director on their board.
- COVID-19 Economic Vulnerability State-wise Tracker (first half of 2020): Built an interactive dashboard that isolates the most economically vulnerable states in India during the COVID-19 crisis based on 15 relevant indicators. Based on that, directed donations to local, grassroots organizations in the most vulnerable states.

- Helped structure and model our first impact investing fund (US$500k) that is focused on genuinely solving the pioneer gap through disruptive investments in super early-stage social entrepreneurs, relying less on guaranteed revenue streams, and more on entrepreneur potential.
- Negotiated, designed, built and implemented single-handedly the entire internal digital infrastructure and operations of the company, which involves over 15 different types of software ranging from basic HR tools to complicated CRM builds for a company of 30+ employees and 1000+ clients (entrepreneurs, sponsors and allies).
- Lead, developed and molded the cultivation methodology (a type of business acceleration) with an emphasis on its flow, quality and on finance-heavy concepts, partnering alongside the likes of Unilever, FOMIN, Hivos and INGUAT (Guatemalan Institute of Tourism).
- Member, Board of Directors & Consultant at Bridge For Change (March 2019 – Present) – A non-profit based in Tanzania that empowers and educates youth.

- Continue to serve on the Board of Directors to advise on operations
- Finance & Operations at Livelyhoods (March 2019 – October 2019) – A social enterprise based in Nairobi, Kenya trying to solve poverty through job creation.
- Implemented the concept of lean start-up experimentation, aligning metrics and processes to drive result-based improvements

- Created an internal dashboard (using Google Data Studio) that closed the loop with the regional branch managers by providing them with their sales data from Salesforce that they previously didn’t have access to
- Optimized the sales process by removing redundant steps and cleaning up internal tech and data (Salesforce)
- Facilitated sessions and advised on strategy options for future growth and sustenance
- Trained the team to ensure that I was not creating any dependencies
